I was eight when I came to the US from Peru. As a first-generation Peruvian-American, helping people was never something I had to think about. It’s who I am. At 19, I started a club at my community college that later became a nonprofit I co-founded, Children’s Hospitals National Foundation (CHNF). It raised money for children’s hospitals across the country, and for four years it was my everything. I love helping children, especially those affected by cancer.
Running it taught me something I didn’t see coming. Most nonprofits didn’t know about the Ad Grant, and the ones who did could barely spend any of it.
By 2010, I was splitting my time helping other charities fix their Ad Grant accounts while running CHNF. At some point I had to be honest with myself about where I was actually making a difference. One nonprofit helping children, or fifty others including the ones fighting childhood cancer.
The answer was obvious.
So in 2013, I made it official.
And within the first year we had over 50 clients, almost all from referrals. The nonprofit world is small and word travels fast.
In 2019, Google reached out to ten agencies worldwide to help refocus the program and launch the Ad Grant Certified Agencies. Being one of those certified agencies gave us direct access to the Ad Grant team and we’ve kept that relationship ever since.
The
results since then have been humbling. We white label for other agencies, manage multiple $40K/month Ad Grant Pro accounts and in 2022 we moved $1.1M in grant spend for Americares in a single year. Nearly 10X the standard grant in twelve months.
But the number I’m most proud of is the nonprofits we’ve helped along the way.
